 When
fully built, the Village will consist of eight family-style homes
for the children, six apartments for seniors who will act
as surrogate grandparents to the children and a community center
where services will be provided. There will be play areas and
a
basketball court. A 2.2 acre piece of property at 1321 Lia Lane
(in honor of founder, Lia Rowley). The location
is in the 1300 block of Kawana Terrace
in Santa Rosa.
The first phase of four homes and three senior
units are completed. Each house will be the home of “village parents” and
six children. Most of the children will be part of sibling groups.
The second phase will include four family homes,
a grandparent apartment complex for three, and the G. K. Hardt
Community Center. The Village Center has been
completed and is used to capacity every day.
